State Trooper killed in line of duty

AUBURN-An Indiana State Trooper was struck and killed by a driver fleeing from police in northern Indiana on Friday.
The accident happened on I-69, south of Auburn, according to Indiana State Police.
Master Trooper James R. Bailey of Auburn was attempting to deploy stop sticks when he was struck by the suspect’s car.
Trooper Bailey died at a nearby hospital.
He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.

The suspect was later arrested.
