Jerry L. Monts, 74, of Terre Haute, passed away Friday May 26, 2023 in his residence surrounded by his family. Jerry was born January 21, 1949 in Clinton, IN. to John William Monts and Dorothy Maxine Sadler Monts. Jerry worked in Technical Support for Columbia House before he retired. He was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed playing golf with friends at Parke County Golf Course. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John B. Monts and a brother in-law, John C. Whitecotten and a granddaughter, Kelsie Monts. Jerry is survived by his wife, Carol Whitecotten of Terre Haute, one son, Scott Monts (Deanna) of Westfield, IN, a brother, Ron Monts (Mary) of Danville, IN, a sister, Darlene Reeder (Tony) of Rockville, IN., a sister in-law, Belinda Monts of Ladoda, IN. Two brother in-laws survive; Vince Whitecotten (Donna) of Houston, TX, and James Whitecotten (Karen) of Terre Haute. He is survived by a special sister, Jodi Swett. Two Grandchildren survive; Kaitlyn Monts and Peyton Monts as well as several nieces and nephews. Cremation was chosen, no services are scheduled. Greiner Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
