Terry Franklin “Frank” Phillips Sr, 71, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital, on September 14, 2023 following complications of a stroke.

Frank was born on August 4, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Clair H. and Velma Fern (Zellers) Phillips. Frank graduated from Niles Michigan High School with the class of 1970 and then from Lincoln Christian College with a bachelor degree in Arts. He served as an ordained minister in churches in Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky. Frank loved writing and devoted much of his life to working as a journalist and editor. He worked for the Journal Review in Crawfordsville, Indiana and The Brazil Times, in Brazil, Indiana. He also worked as a reporter with DLC Media in Brazil, Indiana and WCVL in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Frank was also a published author with the writing of “Living in Victory”.

Frank married Linda Davis on September 10, 1978. They attended First Baptist Church and First Christian Church’s in Brazil. Frank was also a member of the Brazil Rotary Club. Frank loved his family and his dog Joe. He truly enjoyed writing and reporting. He loved the Lord and loved serving others.

Frank is survived by his wife Linda; son Terry Phillips Jr. (Rebecca) of Crawfordsville, Indiana; daughter Amanda Kinzel (Ed) of South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren: Logan Phillips, Cailin Phillips, Hannah Kinzel, Rose Kinzel, John Kinzel, Dominic Kinzel, Joey Kinzel, Clare Kinzel, Billy Kinzel, and Katie Kinzel; sister and brother-in-law Kim Davis (Carol).

Visitation for Frank will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Wednesday, at 11:00 AM with Pastors Chris Gregg and Mark Grayless officiating. Graveside services will be held at Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort, Indiana on Thursday, at 11:00 AM.
