Barton Lee Gamble, 61 of Terre Haute, formerly of Clay City, died unexpectedly October 12, 2023 at his home. He was born November 7, 1961 in Brazil, the son of Jerry and Barbara Griffin Gamble. He graduated from Clay City High School and soon after had a job with Bemis in Terre Haute. He stayed at Bemis for many years until health issues led to early retirement.

Bart bought a small farm in North Terre Haute that he thoroughly enjoyed. He loved to be out of doors and work with his red tractor. He liked coon hunting as a young man and his Harley Davidson. He had a dog companion named Buddy that was dear to him and he kept in contact with several of his family with email.

He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Jerry and Barbara Gamble and his dear brother, David Gamble.

Survivors include his loving aunts, uncle and cousins.

Services will be held Wednesday October 25, 2023 at 2:00pm at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 8th St. Clay City, IN. with Pastor Dave Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Friendly Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Catholic Charities.
