Gregory Alan Lutes, affectionately known as Greg to friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Greg was born to the late Earl and Lenora (Price) Lutes on February 10, 1957, in Brazil, Indiana. He was a loving, selfless, and kind man who brought joy to everyone around him.

Greg attended Staunton high school, where he graduated with the class of 1975. For over four decades, his hard work ethic and dedication led him to a long and successful career as a foreman at Great Dane Trailers, where he was a beloved figure.

Above all, the center of Greg’s life was his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather, always present at his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, band performances, and extracurricular activities. His love extended beyond these moments, as he cherished every opportunity to spend time with his family. Whether it was sharing a meal at their favorite restaurant or simply enjoying each other’s company at home, these were the moments that truly brought him joy.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Russ Lutes, and his mother and father-in-law, Rex and Lynn Cope.

Greg is survived by his wife Melanie, three children, Elizabeth Lutes (Donte), Emilee Biddle (Butch), Ryan Lutes (Arianna), grandchildren, Kolton Biddle, Isaiah Hoffman, and Lynnlee Biddle, siblings, Steve Lutes, Tim Lutes (Carol), Terry Riddell (Sam), brothers-in- law, Brent Cope (Jana), Jeff Cope (Dawn), and a close friend who he loved like a brother, Jim Smith as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In accordance with Greg’s wishes, there will be no services.
