Carol Rae Isbell (nee Walter), 82, of Shiloh, IL, born November 8th, 1941, in Marion County IN, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, along with her daughter Lana D. Watson. She was born and raised in Indiana to Wilber G. and Virginia Walter. After graduation she worked the majority of her career at RR Donnely, an advertising and information company. Carol was married to Harlan Frye, June 1960 theyhad two children, Kevin and Lana, who meant the world to her. She was an incredibly kind, patient, and loving mother. Carol met the love of her life, her now deceased husband, Norm Isbell, a former Honey Creek music teacher. After a short time they married in Terre Haute on August 17th, 1986. She was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Robert, Caleb, Alexander, and Lauren. She loved her grandchildren and was the kindest, sweetest grandmother anyone could hope for. Everyone that knew her knew that she was an incredibly talented artist. Her paintings of nature scenes were stunning and her art had a way of lighting up any room, but it was nothing in comparison to her warm smile, her pleasant company, and warm conversation that she gave to all. Carol will always be remembered as an incredibly loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. She was incredibly patient, sacrificial, loyal, and one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet.  We couldn’t have asked for a better mom, grandma, spouse, and friend. She will be missed every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who love her. Above all, we have hope that we will one day see her again in Heaven. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Norm Isbell; and her daughter Lana Watson (nee Frye).  Carol is survived by her son, Kevin (Sheryl) Frye of Littleton, CO; a son in law, Bob Watson of Shiloh, IL,  four grandchildren, Robert A. (Courtney) Watson Jr., Caleb Kevin-John Watson of Wichita, KS, Alexander Frye, Lauren Weatherell as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Nancy Weatherell, Robert A. “Tripp” Watson III, and Winry Watson. Services are Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804.
