Pauline Templeton Anshutz was born in Terre Haute, IN on April 10, 1929 to Florence Moore Templeton and Philip Henry Templeton and passed away on May 6, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her beloved husband, Dr. Frank B. Anshutz, her son, Dr. Bruce P. Anshutz, and granddaughter and namesake, Polly Elizabeth Marchese. Also preceding Pauline in death were her brother and sister-in-law John A. Templeton (Ronni), her sister and brother-in-law Phyllis Templeton Myers (William), her brother F. Stuart Templeton, and brother and sister-in-law Thomas E. Templeton (Carol). She is survived by her four children, Tom and Jennifer Anshutz Thomas, Neil and Claire Anshutz Marchese, Susan J. Anshutz, Scott and Samantha Anshutz and Margie Meis Anshutz. Polly is survived by grandchildren Dan and Emily Thomas Lindley, Stephen and Darci Rector Marchese, Gavin and Sarah Thomas Reeg, Frank and Bailey Rusted Anshutz, Grace Anshutz, Foster Anshutz, Beck Anshutz, Lainey Anshutz, Ella Anshutz and three great grandchildren, Max and Leo Marchese and Elliott Anshutz.

Polly Anshutz graduated from Garfield High School in 1946 and from Indiana University in 1950, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She married Frank Bradford Anshutz on August 28, 1950 in a double wedding ceremony with her sister Phyllis and brother-in-law, William. Pauline was a lifelong member of First Congregational Church, League of Terre Haute, Country Club of Terre Haute, OLGA, and Tri Kappa. She enjoyed most sports including golf and tennis with great friends.

Polly enjoyed the devotion of her family and the friendships of loving caregivers, all of whom helped her stay in her home and with those she cherished. Hospice of the Wabash Valley was also key in making treasured memories in Polly’s last days.

Services are Monday, May 13th at Callahan and Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, Terre Haute, IN. Visitation will take place from 11:00am-1:00pm with funeral services beginning at 1:00pm. Private burial will occur at a later date.
