Grace Evelyn Ingram, 87, of Coal City, Indiana, passed away at her home on June 6, 2024.

Grace was born on November 18, 1936, in Howesville, Indiana, the daughter of Herman T. and Christena (Heath) Pinkerton. She graduated from Patricksburg High School. Grace married James Ingram on November 6, 1955. He preceded her in death. Grace worked for RCA, in Bloomington, Indiana before moving to Carpinteria, California. While there she worked for Santa Barbara Research for several years. She and Jim moved back to Indiana in 2002. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, and sewing. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jim Ingram. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Doris Mae Stutzman, Mary Lou Dayhuff, and Anna Lee Cassida.

Survivors include her 3 children: James Michael “Mike” Ingram (Becky), Debra Sue “Debbi” Gumm (Harold L.), and Jay Marcus “Mark” Ingram; grandchildren: Robbie Ingram (JoHannah), Stephanie Ingram, Mandy Fraiser (Jimmy), Mariah Ingram, Joshua Ingram, Jacob Ingram, Whitney Ingram, Harold C. Gumm, (Samantha), Lisa M. De Los Angeles (Ricardo), and Joel A. Gumm; a brother Herman Theodore “Ted” Pinkerton, and a sister Sarah Jane “Jane” Taylor as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Beech Cemetery, on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Steve Tyra officiating.

Celebration of life services will be held at Heritage Baptist Church at a later date.
