Orville Leroy Combs, 93, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Clinton on May 9, 2022. He was born May 11, 1928, in Marshall, Illinois, to Joseph Combs and Bretha (Nichols) Combs. Orville was a truck driver for many years, and worked on the railroad as well. Orville and his wife (Margaret) were known for their jitterbug dancing and playing Mr. and Mrs. Clause. He was a member of the American Legion Post 104 Color Guard, Voiture 40&8, and Teamsters Union 144. He truly was a jack of all trades. Survivors include three children, Tom Combs, Leann Combs, and J.R. Combs; grandchildren, Jeremy Combs, Chris Longwell, Jade Green, Taylor Combs, and Haley Forler; great-grandchildren, Elijah Combs, Zoeya Combs, Kyley Regynski, Iris Martin, Silas Green-Dust, Archer Regynski, and Margaret Hartman; great great-grandchildren, Kane Thompson and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Combs. Visitation will be May 16, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, followed by services at 1 p.m. with Pastor Linda Smock officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
