Charles “Charlie” Myers, 63, passed away December 5, 2023 at his residence. Charlie was born to the late Carl and Barbara (Scott) Myers on November 12, 1960 in Dover, Delaware.

Charlie graduated from Van Buren High School in 1978. After high school he worked at Donnelley’s for many years. In 2000 he began working as a correctional officer at Plainfield Correctional Facility before retiring a few years ago.

Charlie was an avid book collector and enjoyed watching movies, especially those about military history and westerns.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Susan Ella.

Charlie is survived by his children, David Myers (Samantha), Jenni Mason, and Jeremy Myers (Scotty), grandchildren, Jolyn, Max, Matthew, Myles, Zoey, Maddie, and Katie, one sister, Carlene Lewsader (Roy), his two best friends, Floyd Barrow and Donnie “Maynard” Vanatti as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
