putnam-2-3

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind – On Wednesday (1/23/19) this week around 1:00 pm, Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy Dwight Simmons stopped a mini van with Illinois plates eastbound on I-70 near the 47 mile marker.

The officer says that the van was traveling in the left lane at less than the posted speed limit, and blocking.

The male driver from Columbus, Ohio and the male passenger from Eureka, California, seemed suspicious of the officer.

Both gave permission to search the rental van and K9 Bo gave a positive alert for narcotics.

A search of the van yielded two large duffel bags containing 85 pounds of high grade marijuana with a street value of about $340,000.
