TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A plea deal for an accused killer in Vigo County court.
43 year old Eddie Stewart pleaded guilty but mentally ill to voluntary manslaughter and as part of the deal charges of murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon would be dismissed.
Stewart was accused of stabbing Carlos Vinson to death at the Dew Drop Inn in March 2017.
Under terms of the plea agreement, Stewart would serve 17 and a half years in prison.
His next court date is set for July 5th.
