Mark A. Payne, 67, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in Union Hospital.  He was born June 25, 1956 in Tacoma, WA to Ronnie K. Payne and Rose Ann Sparks Payne.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Shelby Koch (Joseph); unborn granddaughter; brothers, Chuck Payne and Curt Payne; sister, Rhonda Casey (Jerry); nephews, Dustin Higgins, Michael Payne, and Curtis Payne; and many great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Mark was a retired roofer who had worked at Laughrey Bros. for 25 years. He was a member of the Roofers Association and was an avid fisherman going on many fishing trips from Canada to Texas.  Mark loved sports and was a Green Bay Packer and St. Louis Cardinal fan and was on the Terre Haute North baseball team when they won the state championship in 1974.  Mark also loved his dogs, Midnight and Vern.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, November 18, 2023 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Steve Moore officiating.  Visitation will be prior to services from 12:00 until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Research.
