TERRE HAUTE, Indiana (DLC Media) – Mayor-elect Brandon Sakbun announced two more individuals who will take over roles in his administration. Michael James Wright will step in as the Terre Haute City Attorney while Jessica Thome will be placed in the position of City Controller.

Wright has been practicing law since 2006 and through most of that time he has worked in Terre Haute. Thome takes over her position after working as a staff accountant for the Indiana Welfare and Pension Fund and also as a staff accountant for Thompson Thrift Construction. Thome is currently the Chief Deputy Controller for Terre Haute.

When speaking about his adding Thome to the administration Sakbun said, “I am confident in her (Thome’s) abilities to improve our city’s budget. Jessica and I are already hard at work reviewing the 2024 budget.”

In the press release, Sakbun also said, “We have some challenges ahead as we are planning to update our city’s ordinances, zoning, and structure of departments. Michael’s success in municipal government as the Vigo County Council’s attorney and former attorney for the Vigo County Commissioners will be of great benefit to the team.”

Sakbun and his administration will take office in January of 2024.
