Larry Paul Lowe, 79, of Clay City, Indiana, passed away on April 19, 2021 following complications of COVID.

Larry was born in Brazil, Indiana on July 3, 1941, the son of Paul C. and Gwendolyn (Haviland) Lowe. He graduated from Clay City High School in 1959 and then graduated from Purdue University with an Associate’s Degree in Agriculture. Larry married Linda Orman on July 4, 1964. He worked as a farmer and as a coal miner with Peabody Coal and Amax Coal Companies, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator and welder.

Larry served his country in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He was a member of the Clay City Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Hoosier Two Cylinder Club and the National Two Cylinder Club. As a younger man, Larry also enjoyed pulling tractors and even won at the state pull.

Larry shared a love of hunting with his sons and also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Gwendolyn Lowe and a sister Phyllis Willen; a nephew Chris Willen.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Linda Lowe; 2 sons: Brian Lowe of Continental, Ohio and Brent Lowe and wife Sandy of Milford, Michigan; grandchildren: Marrae Prowant, Brianda Lowe, Michalei Troyer (Owen), Branten Lowe, Amanda Lowe, and Nick Lowe; great-grandchildren Kaleigh, Roland, Kallen, Ryla, and Bryceton; nieces and nephews: Julie Daniel, Mike Willen, and Don Willen.

Graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 4:00pm. A memorial service will be planned on Larry’s 80’th birthday, July 3, 2021. Times will be announced at a later date.
